Accounting Lead

About us

We are building a virtual universe which fundamentally improves how people interact online.

Today, that means a powerful remote-social platform. We already have people working out of our office spaces, attending our virtual conferences, or going to school on our campus spaces. We have folks hosting everything from magic conventions to artist EP launches to Thanksgiving dinners, and even a few weddings.

The mission of Gather is to remove physical constraints on peoples' lives, and provide a virtual world which surpasses the real one in interconnectedness, personal touch, and expressiveness.

As the Accounting Lead and first accounting hire at Gather, you’ll have the unique opportunity to lay the foundation of our accounting processes, controls, and tools that will allow us to grow and scale. This is an extremely wide-ranging role and you will be the responsible party for our end-to-end accounting process. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you'll also be a key member of the Finance team and focus on monitoring all company cash inflows and outflows, financial reporting, the buildout and mapping of key processes, and partner with various cross-functional teams on ad-hoc projects and initiatives.

This role is perfect for someone who is hungry, hands-on, and willing to roll up their sleeves to get the job done. You will be expected to pick up unstructured tasks or projects and run with them to the finish line, be able to recommend and implement process improvements, work independently, and prioritize and deliver on tasks at hand.
